Grid table lamp, 2025, glassblowing, glass, 3D printing, 18 cm x 15 cm x 15 cm
This blown glass table lamp is composed of two parts: a double-walled bowl-shaped base with a sphere placed on top. Together, the two elements measure 18 cm in height and 16 cm in diameter. The decoration consists of a solid background color and horizontal and vertical lines whose colors are reversed between the base and the sphere, creating a play of visual contrasts. It is fitted with an LED bulb, discreet and efficient, which illuminates and highlights the upper sphere. This lamp is designed for series production, made in multiple copies.
The pattern of lines on the lamp’s rounded, curved form evokes a sense of perpetual motion, like a three-dimensional version of the visual illusions found in the works of Vasarely. By juxtaposing a base and a sphere with inverted colors, I sought to create a visual dynamic, a dialogue between contrast and continuity. This lamp does more than provide light: it captures the eye, stimulates the imagination, and transforms the space, making it more vibrant and distinctive.
